What causes hernias and who is at risk?
A hernia usually develops between your chest and hips when an internal part of the body pushes through a weakness in the muscle or surrounding tissue wall. In many cases, it causes no or very few symptoms although you may notice a swelling or lump in your abdomen or groin. Surgeon Roshin Thomas, MD, will help you better understand different types of hernias, what it may mean if a hernia is hurting, and when a surgical repair could be the best solution.
